DescriptionThe Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience Freiburg is devoted to improving our understanding of neural dynamics at multiple levels regarding its underlying mechanisms, inter-relations and functional role. Furthermore, our aim is to apply new insights and techniques to outstanding questions in biomedicine and neurotechnology. We provide PhD students from different backgrounds in natural or technical sciences with a thorough scientific and methodological basis in computational neuroscience for an academic or application-oriented career. Courses in secondary skills are also provided. The PhD programme is open to students with a background in the natural or technical sciences, both from Germany and abroad. EligibilityLanguage Requirements The language of instruction is English. Applicants must provide proof of their English skills but TOEFL (or equivalent) is not required. Interviews and presentations to the selection committee will all take place in English and candidates who are not fluent in English will not be considered. Academic requirements Diploma, MSc or equivalent in Physics, Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related disciplines, with a strong interest in interdisciplinary work Duration3+1 year
